Clyde Samuel Crawford

YORK -- Mr. Clyde Samuel Crawford, 77, of 3061 Pine Point Drive, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center Mercy in Charlotte, N.C.

Services for Mr. Crawford will be 4 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, S.C., with Bob Sinan officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Rutherfordton, N.C., Mr. Crawford was the son of the late Ben and Effie Lou Crawford. He was a member of The Truth Church and a member of the Belmont Masonic Lodge. Mr. Crawford was retired from Duke Power Company as a steel rigging supervisor. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his four brothers, Calvin, Worth, John and Fred Crawford and his four sisters, Lela Morrison, Annie Mae Early, Hazel Guffey and Paul Crawford.

Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia "Pat" Ledford Crawford; his two daughters, Ladonne Rogers and husband, Tony of Six Mile, S.C. and LouAnne Stewart and husband, Drew of Lake Wylie; his two granddaughters, Lindsey Anne Lawson of Columbia and Leslie Knight of Lake Wylie; his three brothers, Harold Crawford of Charlotte, Jim Crawford of Santee, S.C., and Ralph Crawford of Sherrils Ford, N.C.; and his four sisters, Myra Rabb and Martha Dunn, both of Charlotte, Josephine Alley of Mount Holly, N.C. and Betty Brons of Cathlamet, Wash.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, and other times at the home of his daughter, LouAnne Stewart, 3055 Pine Point Drive, Lake Wylie.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
