Emory Poole Sr.

FORT MILL -- Mr. Emory Donald Poole Sr., age 64, of 10665 Barberville Road, Fort Mill, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael D. Ritter Sr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Greenville, Mr. Poole was the son of the late John and Robbie Poole. He graduated from Clemson University, where he was active in the R.O.T.C. Mr. Poole was a development engineer with Springs Industries for 10 years prior to establishing The Pillow Place. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and was a member of the Indian Land Masonic Lodge No. 414.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy Pettus Poole; two sons, Ken Hewett of Fort Mill and Emory "Tad" Poole Jr. of Myrtle Beach; four daughters, Ann Smith, Alison Harris and Renee Schmader, all of Fort Mill and Robin Poole of Laurel, Md.; three sisters, Betty Ann Ross of Glendale, Ariz., Floride Elizabeth Jimick of Pittsburgh, Penn. and Lucinda Poole of Rock Hill; his mother-in-law, Ola Pettus of Fort Mill; and nine grandchildren, Ashley, Summer, Lauren, Adrian, Taylor, Luke, Alisha, Hailey and Karly.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home.
