SHARON -- Mrs. Ramona Shillinglaw Hope, 75, of 3609 Shillinglaw Road, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at White Oak Manor in York.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Sharon at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Hope was the daughter of the late Fred and Virginia Sinclair Shillinglaw. She attended Sharon schools as well as Flora Macdonald College in Red Springs, N.C. Mrs. Hope taught public school music at Sharon Elementary School for a number of years and taught piano during this time. She was past director of North Central District of S.C. Women's Club, past president of Sharon Athena Club and for a number of years was the organist for Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. She was also a board member of Carolina Community Action for four years. Mrs. Hope was retired from the Department of Social Services after 28 years.
Surviving are her husband, Carl Frederick Hope; son, James Hope; brother, Fredrick Shillinglaw and his wife, Grace; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friend, Diana Lamb. Mrs. Hope was preceded in death by son, Ricky Hope and grandson, William Hope.
