ROCK HILL -- Mr. McClinton "Mack" Buckson, of 617 Taylor St., died Friday Aug. 31, 2007, at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Rock Hill, with the Rev. James Smith Sr., officiating and Rev. James Smith Jr., assisting. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road, Rock Hill.
A native of Rock Hill, Mack was the son of the late Richard C. Buckson Sr., and the late Laura Sims Buckson.
As a youth Mack attended Sunday school at Victory Fire Baptist Holiness Church and later years attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was educated in the York County public schools and completed his high school education in the U.S. Army.

Mack entered the U.S. Army in 1966 and did two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was discharged honorably in 1974. After being discharged he relocated to Detroit Mich., where he met and married his wife Debra Wilkes, and to the union one son was born. After relocating to Rock Hill, Mack began his employment with Robinson's Funeral Home in Rock Hill until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Wilkes Buckson; two brothers, Sgt. Luther Buckson and James Buckson; and a sister, Patricia Phillip.
He is survived by his two sons, Timothy Buckson of Detroit and Eric Joseph of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; three loving and devoted sisters, Mary Frazier of Atlanta, Ga., Lillie (Roberto) Rovira of Rock Hill, Froanetta Frazier of Manning; three brothers, Richard C. Buckson Jr., Earl ( Dorothy) Buckson all of Rock Hill and Henry (Alice) Buckson of Periora, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Buckson of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Monica Buckson of Rock Hill; one aunt, Louise Sims of Philadelphia, Pa.; godson, Makai "Lil Man" Rovira of Monroe, N.C.; special friends, Regina Jones of Boston, Mass., Caridad Romero and Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Polo all of Miami, Fla.
Family will receive friends at the home. Mr. Buckson can be viewed today at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of the services at the church.
