ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Sally Sanders Jackson, the youngest daughter of Rev. William Clemon Sanders and Mary Ellen McClellan Sanders, was born June 3, 1908 in York County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.D. Montgomery officiating. Rev. Al Yates will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson began her formal education in the public schools of Rock Hill and attended Friendship Junior College. She was converted during her early childhood and joined Mount Prospect Baptist Church. Through the years, she served faithfully in various capacities and auxiliaries of the church, including membership on the Deaconess Board and the Missionary Society. She was also privileged to be honored as Mother of the Church. She married the late Larkin A. Jackson Jr. in 1929 and was blessed with 55 years of togetherness until his passing on May 17, 1984. Mrs. Jackson became actively involved in community affairs. She was a lifetime member of Daughters of Light, Chapter 151 O.E.S. She was an active fundraiser for Friendship Junior College and her church. She touched many lives of devoted friends and persons of her church and community. Making a difference in the lives of others was a source of great satisfaction for her. She believed that "the love we give away is the only love we keep".
Survivors who will cherish her memory are three sons, Larkin A. Jackson III of Capitol Heights, Md., James A. Jackson (Julie) and John W. Jackson (Bernestine), both of Rock Hill; a daughter, Dorothy J. Hudson of Beaufort; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jackson may be viewed from 5 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home and from noon until time of the service Tuesday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, John W. Jackson, 1936 Bedford Drive.
