ROCK HILL -- Mr. James Edward Transue Jr. of Rock Hill, S.C., formerly of the Philadelphia area, 77, passed away on Sept. 10 in the presence of his wife, children and sister and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Friend, Veteran. Transue, a self-made man and entrepreneur, was born on April 10, 1930 in Philadelphia, the son of James Edward Transue Sr. and Gladys H. Transue (deceased). He is survived by his wife, Ann Stuart Transue; son, James E. Transue Jr. and daughter-in-law, Elsie Transue of Mickleton, N.J.; son, Thomas K. Transue and daughter-in-law, Marla Transue of Shamong, N.J.; daughter, Jan L. Thomas and son-in-law, James Thomas; son, David M. Transue and daughter-in-law, Christine Transue; daughter, Sandra Arena and son-in-law, Samuel Arena of Rochester, N.Y.; stepson, Steven J. Stuart and his wife, Kelly L. Stuart; stepson, Scott R. Stuart; stepson, Stanley C. Stuart and his wife, Holly A. Stuart; stepdaughter, Ana Maria Stuart; 17 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren (with one on the way); sister, Edythe H. Painter and brother-in-law, Eugene Painter; June Ryan, his former wife; and his beloved pets.
Memorial and interment will be private.
