Thomas Crawford

CLOVER -- Mr. Thomas Alexander Crawford, 71, of 1519 Highway 55 East, Clover, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Clover First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Walker and the Rev. Irvin Plowden officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Crawford was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Clover, to the late William Herbert and Mabel Currence Crawford. He was a member of Clover First United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Crawford retired after 40 years from Engraph Packaging, Inc. of Charlotte, N.C. and was past member of the Clover Rescue Squad.

Surviving are his wife, Maude Black Crawford; daughter, Rebecca C. McCarter of Clover; sons, Thomas A. Crawford Jr. of Clover and James L. Crawford of York; sisters, Harriet Sifford of Columbia, Rachel Earle of Columbia and Mary Jane Cain of Clover; brother, David Crawford of Gastonia; and four grandchildren, Ginny Crawford and Emily, T.C. and Patrick McCarter.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover.
