Vermelle Pearl Hinson

ROCK HILL -- Miss Vermelle Pearl Hinson, 85, of 717 N. Jones Ave. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 19, 2007, at First Church of the Nazarene, 722 N. Jones Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730, with Dr. Phil Jones officiating and Dr. Eddie Estep assisting. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Miss Hinson was a daughter of the late Phillip H. Hinson Sr. and the late Pearl Jordan Hinson. She retired from Winthrop University, where she worked for over 27 years and was the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Business Administration. A lifelong member of West Main Church of the Nazarene, now known as Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Vermelle had 63 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School and served for 63 years as missionary president. She also served on the District Missionaries Council for 60 years.

Surviving are her brother, Phillip H. Hinson Jr. of Rock Hill; three nieces, Patricia H. Ingram and Barbara H. Ferrell, both of whom she raised and Sandra H. Ransom, all of Rock Hill; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Sept. 18, 2007, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 and other times at the home of her niece, Patricia H. Ingram, 1120 Sturgis Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
