• Northwestern High School needs former football players for an alumni flag football game against rival Rock Hill at 1 p.m. Sept. 22 at South Pointe High School. Any former Trojan who wishes to play is welcome, and former cheerleaders are invited to come out and cheer the team on. Anyone interested should call Northwestern football coach Jimmy Wallace at (803) 982-1948 or the school's athletics department at (803) 981-1231.

• Free Beginner Tennis Clinics for Youth & Adults on Saturdays: Sept. 22, Oct. 6 & Nov. 3; one hour clinic sessions beginning at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.; class sizes are limited; participants must pre-register at the Tennis Center 48 hours in advance; one free clinic per person. Drinks, balls & rackets will be provided. Proper athletic attire is required.

• Tennis Clinics for Youth & Adults: Clinics for adults and youth (ages 3-18) will run from Oct. 1 - Nov. 10 and are offered for beginner through advanced levels. A cardio tennis fitness class for adults will also be offered.

• The Rock Hill Tennis Center invites you to play in the South of the Border Classic USTA Tennis Tournament Oct. 12 - 14. The tournament offers singles and doubles events for ages 8-18 and for adults there are singles, doubles, mixed, open and senior events for Men and Women levels 2.5 - 4.5. Lunch and PW's ice cream will be provided to all participants. Awards will be given for winners and finalists. Registration deadline is Oct. 7th.
