ROCK HILL -- LTC (Retired) David L. Lindsey, 75, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2007. He was born Oct. 3, 1931 in Swainsboro, Ga., to the late David Leon Lindsey Sr. and Blanche Anderson Lindsey.
Dave is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nita W. Lindsey and their children, Rev. Dr. Ronald R. Smith and wife, Cheryl of Jacksonville, Fla., Greg Smith and wife, Vicki of Charlotte, N.C., Carol Ann Dudley and husband, Jim of Raleigh, N.C.; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Marion, Helen, Gregory, Emory, Caroline and Michael.
Dave graduated from both The Georgia Military Academy High School and Junior College (now Woodward Academy) in Forest Park, Ga. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Nebraska at Omaha.
During his 21 year career as an Infantry officer, he served in Korea and two combat tours in Vietnam, earning a Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star among other medals and commendations. After retiring from the military, Dave made a second career in sales before retiring from International Plastics, Greenville, S.C.

A funeral service for LTC (R) Lindsey will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, S.C., with Dr. Ron Smith and Rev. Joseph James officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home and at the home after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Interim Hospice, 154 Amendment Avenue, Suite 105, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
