CLOVER -- Mr. Robert Patterson "Bob" Jackson, 88, of 256 Old Carriage Road, Clover, entered heaven Friday, Sept. 21, 2007.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Clover Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Douglass Key officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson was born January 18, 1919 in Clover, to the late Robert Patterson Jackson Sr. and Bessie Allan Beamguard Jackson. He was a life-long member of the Clover Presbyterian Church and U.S. Army World War II veteran, landing on Omaha beach on D-Day, 1944, as a member of the 29th Division. He was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. Mr. Jackson retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a business owner.
He was an active community member, serving on the Clover Medical Commission, charter member of the Clover Lions Club and had served as Deacon, Elder and Trustee of the Clover Presbyterian Church. He was instrumental in the re-organization of Troop 37 of the Boy Scouts of America.

Surviving are his wife Jean Edwards Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Jackson Joyner and Paul W. Joyner of Clover; and sons, Robert Patterson Jackson III of Corona del Mar, Calif. and son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lee Jackson of Clover; grandchildren, Robert Patterson Jackson IV, David Harris Jackson and Patterson Elizabeth Joyner; and two step-grandchildren Justin Tedder and Ashley Tedder.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the home, 256 Old Carriage Road, Clover. Memorials may be made to Clover Presbyterian Church, 202 Kings Mountain St., Clover, S.C. 29710. .
