ROCK HILL -- Mr. Ernest Coleman, 82, of 282 Barber St. died Sept. 22, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 9, 1925 in Lancaster County to Ike Coleman Sr. and Nannie Curry Coleman. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a former employee of J.P. Stevens Industrial Plant and retired from Rock Hill School District 3 in the operations division. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church and served as a deacon and hymn choir leader. He was a member of Together as One hymn choir.
He leaves to cherish his memories wife, Hannah Williams Coleman of the home; son, Matthew W. Coleman Sr. of Rock Hill; daughters, Ernestine C. Lewis (John) of Richmond, Va., and Etta C. Neal Zeigler (Robert); three brothers; five sisters; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at First Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.L. Hancock officiating and the Rev. Kenneth Cauthen delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park -Hollis Lakes. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
