CATAWBA -- Mr. Thomas Byrum Sturgis, 83, of 398 Ford Road passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at home.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road, with the Rev. Randy Hatcher officiating.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Sturgis was the son of the late Harvey B. Sturgis and Jean Maples Sturgis. He attended Winthrop, was a member of Park Baptist, and retired from Duke Power. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was the widower of Katherine Ford Sturgis.
Mr. Sturgis is survived by his sons, Thomas Ray Sturgis of Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C., and Roger Wayne Sturgis of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
