ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Evelyn Turner Crow, 82, of 1055 Farm Pond Lane, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at her home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with Revs. Ken Lake, Todd Millsap and Rhonda Maurer officiating. Burial will be private.

Having been born in August of 1925, Evelyn Ann Turner Crow has enjoyed a full life. She has witnessed the events and inventions that younger generations will only read about in history books. We are never given a guarantee as to the time we will have on the earth and though we feel grief at this time, we must also rejoice in the fact that our Father allowed us to keep Evelyn here for 82 wonderful years. Even her great-grandchildren were given the opportunity to know her, a chance few others receive. She even saw one become a senior in high school.

Her husband of 65 years, Smith Crow Jr.; her children, Smith Crow III and his wife, Susan of Myrtle Beach; her daughter, Trish Johnson and her husband, Bill of Rock Hill; her brother, William Turner of Brandon, Fla.; her sister, Valerie Smith of Eden, N.C.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, remain here to be a living testament of her life. She will be welcomed to her new home by her parents, Oliver and Hazel Turner; her brother, Jimmy Turner; a grandchild and all our other loved ones who have preceded her on this journey. Her tangible being may no longer be present, but each of us will continue to feel her within our hearts. Though death fills us with sorrow, unfortunately we must experience this pain to truly live and remember that life is precious because it does end.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, and other times at the home of her daughter, Trish Johnson, 364 Colleton Court, Rock Hill.

Mrs. Crow's family asks that instead of flowers, you may honor her memory with a gift to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731, since they offered much needed support in the last few weeks, or Spray Baptist Church, 745 Church St., Eden, NC 27288, where she was a member.

Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game capped a successful All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, which had to wait two years to get the game. From Steph Curry’s alley-oop pass to his two-handed dunk to finish, Sunday’s All-Star Game was entertaining. To most.
