ROCK HILL -- Annie Mae McGuire Walters, 97, of 3177 Long Meadow Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A native of Chester County, Mrs. Walters was born Jan. 13, 1910, the daughter of the late Walter Marion and Sudie Brunson McGuire. She was a housewife and member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul C. Poag; her second husband, Shaylor B. Walters; a son, Paul N. Poag; and a granddaughter, Faith Bailey.
Surviving are her brother, Walter Marion McGuire Jr. of Weaverville, N.C.; her live-in caretaker, Elizabeth Hunter; three grandchildren, Paul N. Poag Jr. of York, Mary Peterson of York and B.J. Poag of Rock Hill; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony Slawson and the Rev. Tom Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Holly United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 7 p.m.
