ROCK HILL -- Ellin Ruth Neely Jhant, 90, of 1611 Constitution Blvd., formerly of Catawba, S.C., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Piedmont Center in Rock Hill.
A native of Lancaster, S.C., Mrs. Jhant was born Sept. 16, 1917, a daughter of the late Henry Grover and Dessie Connor Neely. She was a housewife and member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church in Lancaster. Mrs. Jhant was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Jhant Jr.; and two daughters, Linda and Patricia. Surviving are her children, Paul Tony Jhant of Icard, N.C., William Richard Jhant of Rock Hill and Theresa J. Bishop of Madison, Ga.; sisters, Lucille Vaughn, Susie Turner and Nita Hudson all of Lancaster; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Camp Creek United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jim Elder officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall. Pallbearers will be Mike Jhant, John and Drew Caveny, Kyle Barber, Nathan Rodgers and Billy Hargett.
