YORK -- Mr. Joseph Wade Jordan, 81, of 4211 Acacia Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at his home.
The graveside service will be 2 p.m., Sunday at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in York, with the Rev. Sam McGregor officiating.
A native of Sulphur, Okla., Mr. Jordan was the youngest of three children born to the late Ira and Grace Jordan.
Mr. Jordan grew up and attended school in Arkansas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in electrical engineering. His civilian career included engineering for Republic Steel in Ohio and then as area service manager for Reliance Electric of Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Jordan was active in Boy Scouts at St. Giles Presbyterian Church and Incarnation Lutheran Church in Charlotte. He lived on Lake Wylie and frequently visited Lake Norman, where he enjoyed and loved sailing and fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Isabel H. Jordan.
Survivors include his children, Sandy Bryant and husband, Ralph of Apex, N.C., Ira Jordan and wife, Petra of Anderson, S.C., and Linda Howe and husband, Charles of Rock Hill; his companion, Leslie Michaels of Charlotte, N.C.; his grandchildren, Sam Fincannon, Jordan Bryant, Andy Jordan, Michael Jordan, John Howe and Joseph Howe; and his dog, Lucy.
The family will receive friends following the service at his home on Lake Wylie.
