YORK --Marcus Trough Jr., 78, of 907 East Liberty St., Cedar Terrace Apts. 12A, York, S.C., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at home.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at Dawson Funeral Home Chapel, East Liverpool, Ohio. Interment will be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, W.Va., with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Dawson Funeral Home.
Mr. Trough was born on July 14, 1929 in Wallace, W.Va., to the late Rev. Marcus Trough and Iantha L. Ashcraft Trough. He was a member of the Chester WV Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rites in Tampa, Fla. Mr. Trough, a graduate of Tyler County High School, was employed by Crucible Steel in Midland, Pa. for 32 years, then with Owens Illinois in Hamlet, N.C. He served as grievance representative of the Local 1212 AFLCIO and as President of the Fort Mead, Fla. Mobile Home Association.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jeannette Walters Trough of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Ann and James Brock of Wellsville, Ohio, Kathryn and Chester McHenry of York, S.C., and Joyce Majecic of Fowler, Ohio; mother, Iantha L. Ashcraft Trough of York, S.C.; one sister, Crystal Lee Estlack of Morgantown, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Joshua McHenry, Tashina McHenry, Tammy Brock and Heather McKinnon; and one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn McHenry.
