Ola Newton

YORK -- Ola Isom Newton, 94, of 111 S. Congress St., died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at White Oak Manor in York.

The graveside service will be 2 p.m. today, Oct. 31, 2007, at Laurelwood Cemetery. Dr. Tony Grant of York ARP Church will be officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.

Mrs. Newton was a daughter of the late Issac Isom and Lilly Miller Newton. She was the widow of Harvey Parks Newton and a member of Trinity Bible Church in Rock Hill.

She is survived by five daughters, Ann N. Connolly of York, S.C., Helen N. McAteer of Chester, S.C., Betty N. Elkins of Rock Hill, S.C., Peggy N. Quinn of Rock Hill, S.C., and Cynthia N. McMurray of Richburg, S.C.; sister, Jeanette Orr of Fort Mill, S.C.; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Newton and Ronald Newton

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Ann Connolly, 210 Moss St., York.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
