ROCK HILL --Mrs. Sadie Ruth Barber Buckson of 215 Watts St., died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Gethsemane Church in Rock Hill, with Bishop B. R. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony United Methodist Church, 5462 Harmony Church Road, Edgemoor, S.C.
A native of Chester County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late George William Barber and the late Edwina Gill Barber. She was a member of Gethsemane Church, were she was the mother of the church. She was educated in the public schools of York County, S.C., attending Emmett Scott High School. She retired from working as a Nurses Aid in New York.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Calvin Buckson; daughter, Garland Buckson Gregory; two brothers, Warren (Dorcus) Barber and James (Ruth) Barber; one sister, Mabel Knox; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She can be viewed on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. until the hour of the services at the church. There will be no viewing at the funeral home.
Family will receive friends at the home of Richard Buckson, 831 Lucas St., Rock Hill.
