FORT LAWN -- Cathy Bonnita Pittman Stewart, 57, of 5956 C. Hightower Road, Fort Lawn, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church in Fort Mill, with Pastor Adkins officiating.
Cathy was born May 3, 1950 in Fort Mill. She attended Fort Mill schools. She was of the Pentecostal faith and her love for the Lord led her to serve in a variety of church ministries. She was a homemaker and an entrepreneur, having owned a variety of businesses throughout her lifetime. Cathy was an accomplished songwriter and singer, as well as a talented sculptor and avid crafter, who loved fishing and spending time with her family.
She loved her family dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Stewart and son-in-law, Shaun Moore, both of the home; two sisters, Saundra Faye Rabon and Wanda Kaye Ashley, both of Rock Hill; one son, Jerry Estes Scurry Jr., of Indianapolis, Ind.; one granddaughter, Mariah Scurry of Indianapolis, Ind.; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Jean McLaurin; her father, John W. Pittman Jr.; her daughter, Mary K. Scurry; her brother, John W. (Wally) Pittman III; husband, Chester L. Stewart; and three grandchildren, Shaun L. Moore, and John Robert and Christina Faye Rabon.

We rejoice with her in knowing that she is home with her Lord and her many loved ones who have passed. The family will be receiving friends at the home of her sister, Wanda Ashley, 1008 Quail Meadow Road, Rock Hill, immediately following the service.
