MCCONNELLS -- Ralph Eugene Frame, 83, of Davis Lever Street, ascended into Glory on Jan. 19, at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, with his loved ones surrounding him.
He was born Jan. 15, 1925 to William and Martha Yost Frame. He was an army veteran of World War II, and at age 17 was in the Battle of the Bulge, serving with the 172nd Combat Army Engineers. He worked over 40 years in the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company in the Packing Department. He loved farming, especially raising cattle.
Above all, Ralph loved the Lord. He was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church, having served as an elder, Sunday School teacher and youth advisor for many years. He was a member of the York American Legion, the Lowrys Highland Ruritan Club and other community and civic organizations.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ina Elizabeth Lever Frame; four daughters and their husbands, Ina Ruth and Don Johnson of McConnells, Martha and Wayne Dial of Smyrna, Liz and Charlie Christenberry of McConnells and Eugenia and John Matthews of Chapin. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Beth McDaniel Cash and daughter, Rylee, Kristi McDaniel Sturgis, husband David, and children Kaitlyn and Lane, Brent Christenberry, Stephen McDaniel, Heather Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Richard Dial and wife, Allyson, Andrew Dial, Ralph Matthews, and David Matthews. Other survivors include sisters, Willie F. Jordan, Lorena, Texas, Ruth F. Ferrell, Huntersville, N.C., Elizabeth F. Smith Mora, Covina, Calif.; brother David Frame and wife, Elizabeth, McConnells; Davis and Bess Lever, Summerville; Jim and Sally Lever, McConnells; Ruth and Jim Sample, Charlotte, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rob Frame, Huntersville, N.C..; sister Martha Frame Huey, Lancaster; grandson-in-law, John Cash, McConnells; and beloved grandson, Brian Johnson, McConnells.
A celebration of his life will be held at Olivet Presbyterian Church, 2 p.m. Jan. 23, with The Rev. Chip McArthur and Dr. James P. Sample III officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 5 to 7:30 p.m., Bratton Funeral Home, York, and other times at the home of Beth Cash, 815 Davis Lever St., McConnells.
