SHELBY, N.C. -- David Clyde Blaylock, 50, of 1530 East Dixon Blvd., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Upstate Regional Medical Center.
A native of Maryville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Charles Blaylock and Sally Allison. A former resident of Fort Mill, S.C. and Rock Hill, S.C., he was employed as a cook for Fatz, Denny's and Waffle House. He was a member of Christ for the Nations Church in Shelby and was a longtime fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Blaisdell and husband, Jason Blaisdell of Shelby; two brothers, Ted Blaylock of Crowley, Texas and Kevin Blaylock of Fort Mill, S.C.; two sisters, Pam Blaylock of Fort Mill, S.C., and Susan Jewell of Hickory, N.C.; three grandchildren, Charles Blaylock, Ashley Blaisdell and Les Paul Blaisdell; and a fiancé, JoAnn Morefield.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lutz-Austell Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2 p.m. in the Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private.
