ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Kathleen Chavis, 77, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Black officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 9 West, Bennettsville, S.C.
A native of Forest City, N.C., Mrs. Chavis was a daughter of the late A. L. Skipper and the late Macy Jane Shehan Skipper. She was employed with Maxway and was retired from Springs in Fort Mill with over 25 years of service. She was the widow of Henry R. Chavis Sr.
Mrs. Chavis is survived by her son, Henry "Rick" Chavis Jr. of Catawba; her daughters, Cynthia K. Chavis Craig and Renee Chavis Shipman, both of Rock Hill; her brothers, Bill Skipper of Fort Mill and Roy Skipper of Rock Hill; her sister, Loretta Gay and husband, Willis of Rock Hill; four grandchildren, Mashawn Hatfield, Melissa Strickland, Heather Shipman and Amber Shipman; and seven great-grandchildren, Bridgett, Cody, Zack, Brandon, Cheyanne, Savannah and Rachel.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Jan. 26, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White St., Rock Hill and other times at her home.
