CHESTER -- Mr. Wesley Eugene Peay, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Agape Rehabilitation in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Funderburk officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
Born in Chester, S.C., on Sept. 7, 1923, Mr. Peay was a son of the late Lawrence Peay and Carrie Beam Peay Coleman. He was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Saluda Street Church of God, where he was formerly the superintendent for 25 years. He attended the schools of Chester County and was a volunteer for Chester County Hospital and local residents.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Nannie Melton Peay, are one daughter, Frances Howe of Salisbury, N.C.; one sister, Viola Brown of Rock Hill, S.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester.
