ROCK HILL -- Mr. George Gordon Sr., 84, of 1311 Pinkney St., departed this life on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at Rock Hill Healthcare.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.W. Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park. A native of Fairfield County, he was the son of the late Robert Gordon and Janie Pickett. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. Mr. Gordon was retired from the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company and after retirement, he worked for Guardian Fidelity as an elevator operator. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Willie Lewis Gordon.
Surviving are his wife, Willie Frances McDaniel Gordon of the home; four sons, George Gordon Jr. (Evonne), James Gordon, Harvey Gordon (Doris) and Rick Gordon (Donna); four daughters, Beulah Gordon, Juanita Crosby, Vickie Starr (Edward) and Lavonne Ellis (Ervin), all of Rock Hill; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five brothers, David Gordon, Robert Gordon, Theodore Gordon and Sammie Gordon, all of Rock Hill and Odell Gordon of Tennessee; three sisters, Helen Miller and Rosa Mae Ingram, both of Rock Hill and Geneva Smith of Tennessee.

Mr. Gordon may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the church.
