ROCK HILL -- Mr. Walter E. "Shake" Reddic, 91, of 2115 Cornelius Road, died Jan. 30, 2008, at White Oak Manor.
He was born Oct. 15, 1916 in Charlotte to the late Walter Reddic and Lula Durham Reddic. He attended York County public schools, was a retired plumber for Winthrop University and was a former member of Emmanuel AME Zion Church. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and served as a deacon and on the hymn choir. He was a former member of Rose of Sharon Lodge No. 156.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Loretta Barber, five brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Barber Reddic of the home; daughter, Tanzella Barber of Rock Hill; grandson, Montrel T. McClanaham of Rock Hill; sister, Carrie Horsley of Bronx, N.Y.; mother-in-law, Idell Barber of Rock Hill; sisters-in-law, Minnie McCullough (John), Betty Brice, Dorothy Archie, Geraldine Barber, all of Rock Hill; and brothers-in-law, Newton Alfonzo Barber (Paulette) and Eddie Barber Jr. of Rock Hill and Charles Barber (Christine) of Albany, N.Y., and John Q. Adam of Winston-Salem, N.C.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. George Lowery officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
