ROCK HILL -- Hilda Sager Robertson, 88, of 65 Blackberry Lane, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, N.C.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Scherer Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rick Lindsay officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Robertson was born Nov. 23, 1919 in Woodstock, Va. to the late William Dallas and Bess Siebert Sager. She lived in Woodstock, Va. until she graduated from Woodstock High School and continued her education at Mary Washington College for two years before she transferred to Erskine College in Due West. She graduated in 1941 with a degree in music and secondary school education. During this time she met her husband, Richard Ervin Robertson. They were married on May 10, 1942 in Miami, Fla. Hilda retired from the Employment Security Commission of North Carolina where she worked as an interviewer. Hilda also had a love of music and she shared her love by teaching music and giving piano lessons out of her home.
Survivors are her husband of 65 years, Richard Ervin Robertson of Lake Wylie; sons, William H. Robertson of Charlotte, N.C. and James Ervin Robertson of Lake Wylie; sister, Rebecca S. Ralph of Lebannon, Ohio; and grandchildren, William Dallas Robertson of Charleston, Mary Virginia Robertson of Charlotte, N.C., Lauren R. Lee of Greer and Tracie Leigh Robertson of Florence.
