ROCK HILL -- Bill Jordan Sr., 68, of 1324 McDow Drive, passed away at Piedmont Hospital Friday, Feb. 8, 2008.
Visitation and memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 11, starting at 10 a.m. at Whitesell Funeral Home in Rock Hill.
Mr. Jordan was born Sept. 17, 1939 in Newburyport, Mass. to Charles H. Jordan Sr. and Victoria Pelletier Jordan. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Pearl Gott Jordan; brothers, Charles, James, Robert and Walter; sisters Mary Kamrath and Pat McNally; sons, Marlon Jordan, William Jordan Jr., Ralph Sawyer, Edward Sawyer and Scott Sawyer; daughters Colleen Buzzell, Anita Hamlett, Lila Sawyer and Tina Hoyle; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grand children.
Military service and civic obligations include U.S. Navy, American Legion of Fort Mill where he served as House Chairman, and Loyal Order of the Moose serving as District 2 President.

Bill, as he was called by everyone, married Pearl in 1969 and immediately became a father for her five children, providing for them as a long distance truck driver in Maine and North Carolina. He continued to drive trucks for 40 years until his retirement.
Bill was a terrific cook, was known by many and loved by all. He will be dearly missed.
