Thomas Grant Sr.

CHESTER -- Mr. Thomas LeLand "Pete" Grant Sr., 73, of 2646 Armenia Road died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Chester Regional Nursing Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Capers Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Irwin Plowden and the Rev. Mike Shaffer officiating. Burial will be at Capers Chapel United Methodist Church.

Born in Chester County on June 20, 1934, Mr. Grant was a son of the late Maurice and Bessie Broughton Grant. Mr. Grant was a retired supervisor with Springs Industries, former owner/operator of Grants Deer Processing and a farmer. He was a graduate of Chester High School. He was a member of Chester Cattlemans Association, Ruritans, and Chesters Nuts II Camping Club. He was the widow of Peggy Maxine (Stapleton) Grant.

Surviving are one daughter, Shirley G. Palmer and her husband, Gene of Chester, S.C.; one son, T. L. Grant Jr. and his wife, Margaret of Chester; two brothers, Eddie Grant of Chester and Donald Grant of Spartanburg, S.C.; one sister, Geneva G. McGraw of Spartanburg, S.C.; one granddaughter, Amber B. Thompson and her husband, Jason of Laurens, S.C.; and two great grandchildren, Meredith and Logan Thompson of Laurens, S.C.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester.
