CHESTER -- Mr. Marion Lee Brown, 67, of 2582 Knox Station Road, died Friday, Feb. 15th at his residence.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Cool Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
Mr. Brown was born in Chester a son of the late Ernest Marion "Buddy" Brown and Rosa Lee Coleman Brown Robertson. He was a retired truck driver. He was graduated valedictorian of his class at Monticello High School and was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church. He was an avid "old car racer" and auto mechanic in the 1960's and was known by his friends as "Racer Brown". During his truck driving career, he was known as "Outlaw". He was a lover of bluegrass music.
Survivors include one son, James E. "Buddy" Brown and his wife, Kim of Chester; three daughters, Cindy Long and her husband, Dean of Pomaria, Sherry Sease of Silverstreet and Rose Mary Allen and her husband, DeWayne of Chester; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara "Jerri" Daniel and her husband, Ellis of Dallas, N.C.
