Alma Barnes

LANCASTER -- Mrs. Alma Reid Barnes, 91, formerly of Rock Hill, died Sunday, Feb.17, 2008, at White Oak Manor in Lancaster.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road with the Rev. Rebecca Wilkins officiating.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Barnes was a daughter of the late Walter White Reid and the late Maggie Lee Wisher Reid. She was a homemaker and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She was the widow of John Thomas Barnes and was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are her sons, John Reid Barnes and his wife, Eloise of Fort Mill, Michael William Barnes and his wife, Kristin of Rock Hill and Thomas Walter Barnes and his wife, Carol of Shelby, N.C.; her daughter, Carole Barnes Klein and her husband, John of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren, Keith and David Barnes, Lee, Flinn and Lauren Clarkson, Lynn Ferree and Leslie Brooks; and five great-grandchildren, Bryson, Sydney and Jordan Ferree and Thomas and Madelyn Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White Street, Rock Hill.
