Buck Walker

INDIAN LAND -- Mr. Lawrence Calvin "Buck" Walker, 80, of Indian Land, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at his home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Wolfe Funeral Home. Burial will be at Flint Hill Baptist Church.

Born in Fort Mill, Mr. Walker was a son of the late William Glenn Walker and Carrie Bessie Mae Watford Walker. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Eli Bailes American Legion Post No. 43. He loved racing and building small engines and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Sandra Walker of Pineville; his daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Brian Riggs of Rock Hill; three sisters, Doris Moore and Mildred Osborne, both of Fort Mill and Mary Griffin of Pageland; grandchildren, Ashley and Tim McDonald, Seth Walker and Kimberleigh Riggs; a great-grandchild, Andi Walker; and his faithful companion, Toby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Cloninger Walker of 52 years; and a son, Larry Walker.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 19, 2008, at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home, 10841 Pettus Road, Indian Land.
