CLARKTON, N.C. -- Mrs. Jerrie Nichols Rawls, 59, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was born May 15, 1948, in Rock Hill, S.C., the daughter of the late Jack and Doris Buddin Nichols. She was a registered nurse for 28 years. She was formerly employed with the Red Cross, Columbus Regional Healthcare and Southeastern Regional Hospital in Lumberton, N.C., where she was also a supervisor and clinical auditor. She was formerly a Trailway stewardess for the Royal Family of England.
She is survived by a son, Jonathan "Marshmellow" Rawls of the home; two daughters, Charlotte Rawls McDuffie and husband, Robert of Whiteville, Gretchen Rawls Sholar and husband, James of Whiteville; a special friend, Paul Hardee and his son, Joe Hardee, both of Clarkton; six grandchildren, Patrick McDuffie, Rachel McDuffie, Stephen McDuffie, RaeAnna Sholar, Reaganne Sholar and Whitney Sholar; five sisters, Jan Lewis, Jill Morrison and Marie Paul, all of Rock Hill, Florence Peake of Clinton, S.C., and Judy Stacey of St. Paul; a nephew, Josh Nichols of the home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Peacock's Chapel in the Pines.
