CHESTER -- Mr. Charles Ivey Hullender, 85, of 1421 Collie Lane, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain, N.C., with the Rev. Jeff Williams officiating.
Born in Kings Mountain, N.C., Mr. Hullender was a son of the late Charley Webb Hullender and Nellie Mae Webb Hullender.
He was a retired owner and operator of Hullenders Garage. He attended schools of Kings Mountain and was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII having received the Purple Heart. He was of the Methodist faith and the widower of Helen Frances Boyles Hullender.

Surviving are one daughter, Charlye H. Bailey of Chester; one granddaughter, Amanda K. Moore and her husband, Lin of Chester; one grandson, Charles L. Dove and his wife, Tracy of Chester; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Dakota Dove of Chester.
The family will receive friends anytime Thursday at the home of Amanda and Lin Moore, 515 Sherwood Circle, Chester.
