ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Odessa Archie Kennedy, 81, of Flint Hill Street, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Dwayne C. Brown officiating and the Rev. Walter B. White delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.
A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Kennedy was a daughter of the late Willie and Hannabell Swift Archie. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Kennedy Sr.; son, Samuel Edward Kennedy "Grip", and grandson, Leonard Bernard Kennedy "Timbuck".
Surviving are her children, James O. Kennedy Jr. and Willie Kennedy (Evelyn) both of Plainfield, N.J.; Margaret Ann Kennedy-Hill (Eddie) of Norfolk, Va., Betty Jean Kennedy of Raleigh, N.C., Jackie Ray Kennedy, Linda F. Kennedy and Randy Kennedy all of Rock Hill; brother, Toy Ray Archie (Thelma) of Plainfield, N.J.; sister-in-law, Mildred Kennedy of Cherry Hill, N.J.; 10 grandchildren including three whom she reared, Hassan Kennedy, of Norfolk, Va., Latrise Kennedy-Carter of Birmingham, Ala. and Edith Thompson Aquil of Norfolk, Va.; 22 great-grandchildren.

A public viewing will be at Flint Hill Baptist Church, 1214 Flint Hill Street, Wednesday, March 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and on Thursday, March 6 from 11:30 to 12:45 p.m.
