FORT MILL -- Mr. Harry Malone Miller, 86, of Fort Mill, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Westminster Health and Rehab Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Unity Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Dan Holloway and the Rev. Jeannie Bickett officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal service in the Unity Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
Born in Chester, Mr. Miller was a son of the late Lewis Harry Miller and Elizabeth Young Miller. He graduated from Chester High School in 1938 and graduated with honors from Clemson University in 1949 with a bachelor's degree in textiles. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Navy veteran and served as a naval aviator during World War II. He retired from Springs Industries as Director of Staff Services for Grey Manufacturing, working in the company's executive office.
Mr. Miller was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder. He served on the York County Technical College Commission for 29 years. He was a member of Toastmasters International, served as a volunteer hearing officer with the Fort Mill School District and served as director of the Fort Mill Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are three sons, Harry Malone Miller Jr. and wife, Virginia; Lewis Michael Miller and wife, Anne of Columbia; and Robert Stevenson Miller of Columbia; a sister, Gladys Elsea of Kingsport, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jason and wife, Krista, Jennifer, Samuel and Matthew; and a great-grandson, Evan. He was the widower of Elizabeth "Beth" McKeown Miller.
