Arpad A. Molnar

CHARLOTTE -- Mr. Arpad Albert Molnar, 89, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Mecklenberg Health Care.

A native of Roxbury, Mass., Mr. Molnar was a son of the late Arpad and Dora Cedarlund Molnar and was the widower of Evelyn Leviner Molnar. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Saco Lowell Textile Company of Greenville, S.C., where he worked as a sales representative for over 42 years. Mr. Molnar was a life member of Winnsboro Lodge No. 11 A.F.M., and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and Hejaz Temple.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Winnsboro, S.C., with military honors provided by The Honor Guard of Frank Roach Post 34 of the American Legion and Masonic Rites conducted by Winnsboro No. 11 A.F.M..

Surviving are his son, Al Molnar and wife, Patty, of Matthews, N.C.; his daughter, Gloria Abernathy and husband, David, with whom he lived; his brother Gene Molnar of Mount Dora, Fla.; his sister, Ginny Permar of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Ashley, Meredith, April and David; and four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Mason, Haleigh and Cade.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
