ROCK HILL -- Ms. Nora Wallace Roddey, 90, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2008.
Formerly of Pendleton St., she had been a resident of Rock Hill Healthcare for the past several years. Ms. Roddey was a native of Chester County, S.C., and a daughter of the late Daniel B. and Mary E. Ramsey Wallace. She was the widow of Benny F. Roddey.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Broughton and the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery.
Ms. Roddey was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 50 years and also served as a director of The Sunbeams. She was a former employee of Chester County where she served as secretary to Probate Judge Hattie Hardin.

Surviving are two daughters, Alice Rinehart and husband, Ronnie, of Rock Hill and Sandra Gaston, also of Rock Hill; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ms. Roddey was preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnn Sims and 13 brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 and other times at the home of her daughter, Alice Rinehart, 1507 Pelham Lane, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
