ROCK HILL -- April Elizabeth Kinchloe Roberts of Rock Hill, died in the evening of March 14, 2008, at her mother's home in Rock Hill. She had battled Angiosarcoma, a rare cancer, for three years.
April was born Dec. 18, 1974, in Van Nuys, Calif. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter and teacher. She graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1999 and later from the University of Colorado with an M.S. in geology. While living in Colorado she was employed by Pikes Peak Community College teaching earth sciences and by the National Park Service at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in central Colorado.
April arrived in Rock Hill in the spring of 2005. She loved children, flowers, butterflies and spiders, experiencing great enjoyment raising her little boy and tending her butterfly garden.
April is survived by her husband, William S. Roberts and beloved son, Liam K. Roberts, both of Rock Hill; her mother, Joanne M. Valenti of Rock Hill; her father, Ralph T. Kinchloe Jr. of Kern County, Calif.; and her sister, Jessica L.K. Smith of Virginia City, Nev.

A memorial for April will be held Saturday, March 29, at Quiet Creek Park in Rock Hill.
