CHESTER -- Mrs. Efthemia Demas Poulos, 96, of 1706 Poulos Road, Chester died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Chester Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilksburg Baptist Church, with Father Tommy Vlahos of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Charlotte, N.C., officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barron Funeral Home.
A native of Karyae, Sparta, Greece, Mrs. Poulos was a daughter of the late Pete Nicholas and Bessie Geta Demas. She was homemaker and the widow of Sam K. Poulos.
Surviving are two daughters, Helen P. Diamaduros and her husband, Gus, of Union, S.C., and Bessie P. Vastis and her husband, George, of Chester, S.C.; two sons, Gus S. Poulos and his wife, Cathy Contos and Pete S. Poulos and his wife, Catherine Raftakis, both of Chester; seven grandchildren, Pete G. Diamaduros and his wife, Gia, of Spartanburg, S.C., Sammy G. Diamaduros and his wife, Hope, of Union, S.C., Timi Poulos of Greenville, S.C., Spiro G. Poulos of Spartanburg, S.C., Sam P. Poulos, Thamie Poulos and Maria Poulos, all of Chester, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Konstantine and Elee Diamaduros of Spartanburg, S.C., and Dean, Lenna and Anastasia Diamaduros of Union, S.C.
