ROCK HILL -- Ms. Annie Lee Cornwell of 1709 College Plaza, Rock Hill, S.C., passed away March 26, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Willie T. and Willie Lee Cornwell, born in York County on May 31, 1933.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, March 30, 2008, at St. Luke No.1 Baptist Church in Sharon, S.C., with the Rev. Dr. A. A. Bankhead officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Ann was a faithful member of St. Luke No.1 Baptist Church. After returning home from Cincinnati, Ohio and returning to St. Luke she organized the Missionary Ministry of St. Luke in 1978. She was a member of the senior choir, adult Sunday School class, Sunday School teacher and assistant superintendent of Sunday School. Ann was Past President of the Woman's Annual Convention of the Sandy River Baptist Association. Ann was a life member of the Woman's E&M Baptist Convention of S.C. She was the Worthy Matron of Lux Fiat Chapter 110 of Eastern Star and a member of the AP&B Society No. 18. She attended Wednesday Bible Study at Nazareth Baptist Church and was secretary for the College Plaza Community for 27 years.
Ann was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Ensley and Willie Cornwell; and one sister, Willie Mae Jackson.

Survivors include six sisters, Mrs. Eliza Rhinehart of Chester, S.C., Mrs. Frances Woods of York, S.C., Ms. Leatha Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Betty (Eugene) Perry of Covington, Kentucky, and Ms. Mary Kirkpatrick of Chester, S.C.; one brother, Mr. James Cornwell of Rock Hill, S.C.; one stepdaughter, Ms. Yvonne B. Patton of York, S.C., one goddaughter, Mrs. Betty (David) Woods of Charlotte, N.C.; two godsons, Mr. Bennie McPherison, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mr. Herman Cole Jr. of Hopewell, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
