CHESTER -- Mrs. Teresa Gaye Smith McKenzie, 48, of 111 Pine St. died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Purity Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Wilksburg Cemetery.
Mrs. McKenzie was born June 29, 1959 in Columbia, S.C., a daughter of Hazel Mildred Carter Smith and the late Nicholas Preston Smith. She was a graduate of Eau Claire Class of 1977 and of Columbia College Class of 1981. She received a Masters Degree from USC in 1982. She was the Media Specialist at Chester High School and was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Session member.
Surviving are her husband, Charles McKenzie; daughters, Cheryl McKenzie, Nicole McKenzie and Sarah McKenzie of the home; mother, Hazel Smith of Columbia, S.C.; one sister, Nicki Susan Riley of Lexington, S.C.; and cousin and caregiver, Darlene Thomas of Chester.
