ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Eva Mae Pethel Carpenter, 80, of 1007 Linwood Drive, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Whitesell Funeral Home, with Rev. Roger Brown officiating.
A native of Kannapolis, N.C., Mrs. Carpenter was a daughter of the late Carl W. and Carrie Carroll Pethel. She was retired from Baldor Electric Inc., and was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Maxie Edmund Carpenter.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Blair and Gale Carpenter and Tim and Dee Carpenter; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracie Carpenter King and Earnest King; a brother, Arthur Pethel; a sister, Ruth Miller; five grandchildren, April Burris, Matthew Carpenter and his wife, Kristin, Dylan Carpenter, Clint Carpenter and Cody King; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Trent Carpenter; and a granddaughter, Leslie Hartis.
