ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Alluwee Dyches Hollingsworth, 84, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at her home.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. today, April 26, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Jesse Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Barnwell County, S.C., the daughter of the late Furman A. Dyches and the late Lillie Mae Aldridge Dyches. She was raised in Blackstock, S.C. She was the widow of Hugh John Hollingsworth Sr. to whom she was married for 37 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Mill and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She loved spring and summer so she could enjoy taking care of her beautiful flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by her five children, Annie K. Daughtrey and husband, Gene, of Rock Hill, Hugh John Hollingsworth Jr. and wife, Sarah, of Rock Hill, Danny A. Hollingsworth of Easley, S.C., Debbie H. Jarman and husband, Steve, of Beaufort, N.C., and Donna H. Wilson of York, S.C.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, two of which she reared, Holly and Bailey Wilson of Rock Hill; and her special friends, Rose Branham and Gloria Helms.
The family will receive friends 2 to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill and other times at the home of her daughter, Donna H. Wilson, 382 S. Parham Road, York, SC 29745.
