SPARTANBURG -- Martha Jane Fowler Bennett, 73, of 496 Bennett Dairy Road, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Martha will not have to fight any more battles. She is walking with her Lord on streets of purist gold.
Born Sept. 1, 1934, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Shealey S. and Flossie Godfrey Fowler. She was a member of Cannons United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Ben "Frog" Bennett; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian Bennett and Eric and Teresa Bennett, all of Spartanburg; two sisters, Louise Pace of Cowpens, and Eva Pierce of Spartanburg; a brother, Donald Fowler of Rock Hill; three grandchildren, Erica, Corey and Brooke Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Dorothy Fowler, Jennie Smith, Jewel Willard and Mivory Murph.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Revs. James W. Johnston Jr. and Douglas Gilliland. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family is at the home of her son, Eric Bennett, 110 Carlisle Bennett Road, Spartanburg.
