ROCK HILL -- Danny Gaines Maloney, 56, of 4181 Williamson Road, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A native of Daytona Beach, Fla., and reared in Dublin, Ga., Danny was born November 21, 1951, a son of the late Patrick and Vivian Quinn Maloney. He was a signal maintainer with CSX Railroad for 30 years, member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen and member of Catawba Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Duren Daniell Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Bass Maloney; a son, Christopher Daniel Maloney, and his wife, Nicole, of Dublin, Ga.; a stepson, Les Watts, and his wife, Katie, of Rock Hill; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Watts of Gastonia, N.C.; two sisters, Patty Frost and husband, Dale, of Dublin, Ga. and Micki Smith and husband, Phil, of Covington, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
A service to remember and celebrate Danny's life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with the Rev. David Sealy officiating. Visitation will be at the home. Interment will be private at a later date.
