LOUISBURG, N.C. -- Emma Burris Shillinglaw, 79, of Louisburg died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Wake Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Shillinglaw of Louisburg and son-in-law, Danny B. Arnold of Youngsville.
A service of death and resurrection celebrating her life will be held today at 11 a.m. at Louisburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Earl Dulaney and the Rev. G. Paul Phillips officiating. A service of committal will follow at 5:30 p.m. at Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery in McConnells, S.C.
Surviving are daughters, Cynthia S. Phillips and husband, G. Paul, of Mebane, N.C., and Linda S. Arnold of Youngsville, N.C.; brother, John W. Burris and wife, Pauline. of Sharon, S.C.; sisters, Mary B. Sadler and husband, Oscar, of Sharon and Rebecca B. Howell and husband, Len, of Sharon; stepgrandchildren, Beth Pope and husband, Wayne, of Benson, N.C., and Blair Phillips and wife, Stephanie, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the parlor of Louisburg United Methodist Church, 402 N. Main St., Louisburg.
