WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" King Greene, 85, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Silver Stream Health and Rehab in Wilmington, N.C.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at Laurelwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Greene was the widow of Neal D. Greene and daughter of the late John L. and Bertha Hinson King. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Luther and Marion King, and sister, Inez King Gordon. She was a member of Park Baptist Church in Rock Hill and resided at Westminster Towers prior to moving to Wilmington. Before moving back to Rock Hill when her husband retired, Dot enjoyed living in many different cities in and outside the United States because of her husband's career. Before that time, she worked at Celanese in the office. She was also a good cook and homemaker.
Surviving relatives are her daughter, Vicki Greene Simmons and grandson, Justin Simmons, both of Wilmington; her brother, George E. King of Rock Hill and very special friend, Carrie Luke; nine nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she loved very much,

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill.
