ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Janie Mae Walker, 67, of 137 Bynum Ave. died June 24, 2008, at Hospice & Community Care in Rock Hill. She was born in York County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Thompson and Annie Bell Miller; her husband, Johnny Walker; and daughter, Doris Walker.
She was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church and sang in the vocal choir.
Surviving are her children, Patricia Walker, Stephinie Walker Mayes, Barbara Walker, Johnny Walker Jr., and Terry Walker, all of Rock Hill and Steven Walker of Charlotte; sons-in-law, Lawerance Michael Mayes and Ronnie McClure; daughters-in-law, Vivan Walker and Phyllis Walker; sisters, Carrie Joseph, Savida Marshall and Jennette Hemphill, all of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; longtime friends, Jenny McClure; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 27, 2008, at Parker Funeral Home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Cross Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. Maurice Watts officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
